Intellectual Sanity in the Automation Age

Inference was founded in 2024 as a response to the hyper-accelerated tech cycle. We do not write for the algorithms; we write for the practitioners.

Our Philosophy

Technology is moving faster than our ability to digest its social and cognitive costs. Inference provides slow, meticulous journalism exploring AI tools, workflow engineering, and the existential shifts in white-collar labour.

We verify claims. If a tool promises to save 20 hours a week, we test it in a live production environment for 30 days before publishing our assessment. We prioritize human agency over automation-by-default.

Independence & Ads

We accept zero venture backing and run no programmatic ads. We are supported entirely by our readers through print and digital subscriptions.

This independence allows us to speak honestly about product failures, vaporware, and the dark patterns of modern SaaS design.
